Children

PARENTS - Are you interested in an activity for your children that will teach physical skills while developing a positive self-image and the foundation for strong self-discipline?
These are the basics of Tae Kwon Do training at H.M.D. Academy Chicago. We teach martial arts with an emphasis on everyday life.
The physical techniques and concepts learned at H.M.D. Academy Chicago are also related to one's behavior, relationships, school studies, self-concept and every other interaction we face each day. At H.M.D. Academy Chicago, your child will learn both the physical skills of the martial arts and the mental concepts that will set the foundation for a lifetime of achievement and success.
At H.M.D. Academy Chicago, Tae Kwon Do is taught without competition. Children can begin training at the age of 4, and all ability levels are encouraged.
Your child will have a dynamic workout that will use her/his energy positively. Our program does not pit students against one another in win-lose situations; H.M.D. Academy Chicago starts with the premise that all students, regardless of age, should learn at their own pace without the negativity experienced by losing.

The Children's Program teaches the importance of following rules (discipline), while classroom achievements help form a positive self-image (self-esteem). Your child will learn in a setting that will use his/her energy productively.
H.M.D. Academy Chicago will work with you on specific goals or concerns you have for your child, including development of physical strength and coordination, managing confrontation, improving school performance, and broadening his/her sense of accomplishment. We are also experienced in teaching children with special needs, such as ADD/ADHD, autism and physical limitations.
