LYNN GUerra

Lynn Guerra began practicing Tae Kwon Do in 1997 when she joined HMD Academy through the Illini Club at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In 2001, after graduating college, she moved to Chicago where she joined HMD Academy under Master Sarkiss. Ms. Guerra became in instructor in 2008 and currently holds a second degree black belt. She also hold a master's degree in clinical psychology, and provides counseling to adults, children, and families. She is a mom to three boys who also practice tae kwon do.

Michael Hartman

Michael Hartman began training Tae Kwon Do at HMD Academy Chicago in 2005 and currently holds a second degree black belt. Mr. Hartman is the lead instructor of the Logan Square program, which he co-teaches with his spouse and fellow instructor Ms. Okada. Along with teaching and training in Tae Kwon Do, Mr. Hartman is also involved in music and performs regularly in Chicago. Mr Hartman believes all art forms share the benefits of meditation, self reflection, and self-improvement at their core and relies on both disciplines to improve his quality of life. Mr Hartman and Ms Okada have two sons who have begun training in Tae Kwon Do at HMD Academy. 

Junko Okada

Junko Okada began training Tae Kwon Do at HMD Academy Chicago in 2005 and currently holds a second degree black belt. Ms. Okada is co-instructor of the Logan Square program, which he teaches with her spouse and fellow instructor Mr. Hartman. Ms. Okada grew up in Japan and moved to Chicago in 1997.

Sebastian Seith

Sebastian Seith first began practicing Tae Kwon Do in 2007 with the Illini Tae Kwon Do club. He had the pleasure to practice with the club instructors and Master Hyong while completing his Masters in Computer Science. In 2009 Sebastian graduated and moved to Chicago to become a full-time software engineer. Over the last several years of practice with Master Sarkiss he has been very proud to earn his first-dan in 2012 and become a certified HMD instructor in 2014. Today he practices Tae Kwon Do, Pikiti Tirsia Kali, and Yoga. You can also find him working with both children and adults on Saturday mornings. He is always excited to help students become strong and be a part of the wonderful community the academy has created.
